Bachelors in health-related field?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

So I am really interested in UC Davis' PA program. However, I'm currently a 3rd year philosophy student @ UCLA. I have tried contacting Davis but have not had any luck with getting a response. Does any know if there's any way I could still get into Davis' program with a philosophy major? (of course all of my prerequisites will be completed at the time of application) I just found it odd that UC Davis requires a degree in a health-related field whereas USC and Western will take any BA degree as long as prerequisites are met.

Thanks for reading/responding  ,

Sarah

I was a criminal justice major and have recently been accepted to PA school. I completed the required pre reqs, did EMT school and spent as much free time as I could in hospital setting to get hours. Your major isn't that important as long as you have a bachelors degree.

I was just accepted into UC Davis for the FNP/PA program, and I would just assault them with e-mails until you get a response. All of the students that I know who were recently accepted do have degrees in biology, nursing, or some other science type field, but I'm not sure if that is everybody. You can always try calling them if they are not responding through e-mail. With the program just starting up as an M.S. program, I know they are super busy getting back to anybody.

Don't know if this still relevant to the past discussion, but it appears the "health related major" has been removed:

I would double check before spending the time applying next cycle though.

I was accepted to UCD this year and have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. :)
