Chicago jobs

I will be moving to Chicago this summer, right after graduation. How does the job market look? Does anyone know of any physicians looking to hire a highly motivated new grad within a two hour radius of chicago? Feedback is greatly appreciated.

There are plenty of PA jobs arround Chicago suburbs and IL suburbs. When i started fresh looking for a job after i graduated, it wasnt hard for me to find a job at all since there are plently of docs who desperately in need of PAs/NPs.

So all the best !

May I ask, where are you moving from and why do you want to come up here with the high taxes and crappy weather? I have spent my whole life up here and I am looking to get out. That said, I think there is plenty of work around here, and I have been with my current employer 12 years (alexian bros in the NW suburbs) and they have treated me fantastic. Call up physician recruitment and see what they have available - they're a great company to work for. Who knows, maybe you'll take my FP spot I hope to soon be vacating for greener pastures outside this state. :) It does seem, however, that the climate for PAs in IL isn't quite what it is in other states- my system definitely views PA as support staff rather than doctors that you build a practice with, and they frown upon PAs having their "own patients". I've been told the exact opposite in other states. However, I think the pay is good up here, and as long as they pay me decent and I love what I do, who cares how they view me. Which has been the case with me.

When I was looking for work in Chicago there weren't too many options that i found to be super successful other than hound.com. I was pretty amazed by the amount of jobs they had access to. I was under the impression that I was not going to get a job for a few weeks or even months. I had no idea that there were so many options on hound.com I was pretty excited. I found that hound was the best option for jobs in Chicago. Good luck!

If you don't find a good position before you move there, the market will open up once you are relocated.  Chicago employers are less likely to recruit outside of their local market than most other places in the country would be.
