Alternate List 2013

Just got notified I am on the alternate list as well. I don't know what to do now. I was really hoping to not have to quit my job to get more paid HCE to improve my resume, but I don't think I have a choice. I can't assume I'll be pulled from the alternate list so I'll just have to find some paid HCE. Sorry everyone, just needed a place to vent! Good luck to everyone!

How were you notified you were on the wait list? I am still waiting to hear from my interview last week. My portal hasn't changed and they said they were meeting today so I'm assuming the worst but holding on to a little hope that maybe I was wait listed.

My portal changed to a checklist, but I called the admissions office and they told me then. I'd probably just give them a call and they can tell you for sure, good luck!

I was also put on the alternate list. Does everyone get put on it who isn't accepted or are there people that are actually rejected?

The people that were rejected are not on the alternate list. If you're on the alternate list, you could still be selected if some of the accepted students decline the offer or choose not to attend for whatever reason. You need to send your official transcripts into the admissions office ASAP though.

Ok cool. I just didn't know if they put everyone on the alternate list or if they actually rejected people. I'm still working on my undergrad so I will send them as soon as I graduate!

I have heard of people being rejected, so if you make it on the alternate list that's good. They do mention at the interview that rejection is the third possibility (other than acceptance and alternate list), so it must be something that happens. I think it's less common than the alternate list though.
