mjd58
I am currently a Biology/Pre-med student at The University of Akron and interested in becoming a physician assistant. As you all know, most PA programs require a minumum amout of shadow experience prior to applying. What is the best way to go about the shadowing process and does the location of the shadowing effect the chances of being accepted? There are plenty of hospitals in the area and its very challenging to narrow down the search! Thanks!!!
marilynpac
Your best bet is to go to your state PA assoc and email them for a list of PAs who shadow. Look to see what's available in your area. Contact the PAs by email to see if their available for shadowing and ask what their specialty is. Shadow as much as you can in several different areas. Don't forget to ask for LORs and you can also use the shadowing experience in your PS. Good luck.
