Monono
Hello all, I am very new to this forum. I have been reading a lot of posts but finally got the courage to post my questions. I am starting my pre-reqs in a couple of weeks. VERY interested in WSU's PA program. I was wondering if there is anyone out there reading this post and was accepted to WSU. If so, What type or GPA, experience, where did you take your pre-reqs?....etc. Any help or advise is very appreciated!

ShannonN
Pre-PA tab under Wayne State will give you all that info! I am just graduating from Wayne State PA program (usually graduate in May, but I had a baby in April, so I'm graduating a semester late). Our class had very different backgrounds. I was a certified optician for years. I had (no lie) 6 undergrad schools where I had prereqs from. They don't care where you take them as long as your GPA is good. Mine was 3.95 or something (4.0 pre-req GPA). It doesn't have to be that high, though. You just have to meet their criteria, get as much experience as you can (I would highly recommend EMT as experience...the people who had that experience excelled in not being shy about trying things out). Good luck. I remember being so confused about where to start. And, honestly, I can't believe I've almost reached the culmination of all my efforts. It's like continuously jumping through hoops until you're done. But you can do it! :)

balsam88
I applied to WSU this year and got an interview, still waiting to hear back soon. I took my pre-req's at 3 different universities. My overall GPA is 3.85 and science GPA 3.89. My GRE score wasn't great (279 combined, 4.0 analytical writing). I had around 600 hours of direct patient experience and >3000 hours as a medical technologist. Good luck with your application!
