Submitted 5/17, file complete email 5/19, interview invite today (6/22) for either 8/4 or 8/7 (I have to check the PTO calendar at work before I can decide which date will work best). Extremely excited since this is one of my top choices and my first interview!

Anyone have any advice for the MMI format?

Update: scheduled for the 8/4 date =)

Do you mind me asking what your stats were?!

3.90 cgpa, 3.92 science

161 verbal, 160 quant, 3.5 aw (was a bit worried because it's below 50th percentile)

~250 hrs phlebotomy

~1000 mlt practicum

~1000 diagnostic genetics practicum

~2500+ current clinical genomics lab technologist

~70+ personal care assistant for an autistic teenager

Most of my healthcare hours are indirect, so I'm really excited that they have given me the opportunity for an interview!=)

Did anyone see anything on their website about how many people they typically interview each year?

I haven't been able to find anything, but they did matriculate 86 students for the class of 2018 so I'm guessing they interview quite a bit of applicants.

Hey! I'm in the class of 2019 and will be one of the people giving tours/answering questions on the interview days! If you have questions, let me know.

I have heard through the grapevine that they changed the interview format from last year, so I can't speak for this year's. And in my interview session there were easily 30 people interviewing so that's different from the 16 I'm hearing!

Good luck!

Thanks for reaching out! I have my interview on August 28th. I'm very excited! They said they are utilizing an MMI format for interviews. Have you had any experiences with this when you were applying to school? Any advice for this interviewing format? Any specific advice you'd give to someone who's interviewing at Midwestern?

Thanks in advance!

Hey! Sorry I can't really give you advice there. They changed the format this year so I can't really say. And I didn't interview in any schools that used that format. I don't know if this will help or not, but I think what got me in was when I told them what I would do if I was struggling academically. I'm not sure if that kind of question will come up again. I just remember that question a lot because they really stressed that in orientation. They aren't looking for perfect people (although I guess that will get you in!) but people who know how and when to change tactics, and who have done so successfully before. Remember, they're looking for people that they believe will stick with the program.

Again, not sure if that will come up in the MMI. Also, I believe I'll be there on Aug 28 as well! Maybe I'll see you! Good luck!
