Residency Interview

Recommended Posts

I GOT AN INTERVIEW WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! Ok, so now the excitement is dying down and the realization has sunk in. I have an interview for an emed residency coming up in the very near future, but I have no idea what to expect! Does anyone out there know if they are similar to P.A. school interviews, more or less formal? Should i prepare for a firing squad? Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated!! :saddd:

My experience was very laid back, and I think most are this way. Remember, they are trying to attract you to come there as much as you are trying to win them over. So it's not like they sit you down and fire questions at you or make you run a code simulation. My interview lasted about 4 hours and consisted of several one-on-one interviews with various faculty and people connected to the program. All of the interviews were very conversational and relaxed. They took us out to lunch and let us meet some of the other residents, and they gave us a tour of the facility. That was pretty much it. I understand your nerves. I was there, too. But if it's anything like mine was, it really won't be that bad. Good luck!
