kelzie
I did not see a thread started yet for this year, so figured I'd get one started! Does anyone have experience applying here? I was looking over the supplemental application through the NAU graduate school and one of the questions is 'date sent GRE scores to NAU'. Since they have a CASPA GRE code, I have already requested scores for the CASPA code. I am unsure if I need to send the official scores directly to the school as well or if the 'date sent' refers to when I sent them to NAU's CASPA. I tried using their contact email, however have not heard back yet.
ajames
Hey Kelzie, I sent my scores to the school program with code 4006 but I will also be sending them to CASPA using the 2118 code. Did you ever hear back since your post was a while ago?

ecolvard
Last cycle the scores had to be sent directly to the school, but per Kay, the scores are to be sent to CASPA this year. Good luck!
kelzie
I just got ahold of someone from their office today (unfortunately did not get his name), but he said to send official scores to CASPA as well as directly to the school. I'm going to send to both just in case! =)
schiersm
Has anyone heard from this program yet? I've heard at least something from every other program I'm applying to, even if it's just to tell me they've received all of my materials but won't start reviewing applications until September. I've submitted CASPA, the supplemental, and sent GRE scores to CASPA and to NAU. Hoping I haven't overlooked anything!
kelzie
I received an email when I submitted the supplemental that said: "Your application to the Physician Assistant Studies (Phoenix Biomedical) program at Northern Arizona University for the Fall 2018 semester has been successfully submitted. You will receive additional information after your application has been processed by the Graduate Colleg" I haven't had any other communications about if they received CASPA or GRE scores. Hopefully we'll hear more soon!
WildcatPA
Last year I just sent them through CASPA and they received them. I've sent an email just to be sure I do not need to resend them scores this year but with every other school they still have last years scores through CASPA. I interviewed last year in November and was placed "on hold" which I suppose I still would be until this years class officially starts. Hoping to interview earlier in the cycle this year. Good luck to everyone!
Pez
I am going to apply to Northern Arizona this weekend. I am a non-Arizona resident, does anyone know if there's a given preference for in state vs out of state.
dhelgs
I am going to apply to Northern Arizona this weekend. I am a non-Arizona resident, does anyone know if there's a given preference for in state vs out of state. This is directly from their website.... The university publishes a non-discriminatory policy in compliance with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and with Title IX of the Educational Amendment of 1972 and consistent with federal and state statutes, rules and regulations. Additionally, in accordance with the PA program mission and goals, the program will give preference to applicants who indicate a high potential for remaining in the state of Arizona to work following graduation as well as individuals from targeted populations defined by our HRSA Primary Care Training Grant. This includes individuals who are first generation college students, economically disadvantaged, educationally disadvantaged, underrepresented populations, military veterans, and those from rural backgrounds. I am a non-Arizona resident, does anyone know if there's a given preference for in state vs out of state. I applied as an out of state student last year and was told that they review applications in 3 rounds. 1. in state students 2. veterans 3. out of state students I think its definitely harder to get in out of state! ecolvard
Man, that's disappointing! This is one of my top choices, but I'm OOS. I agree, it is disappointing! I applied to NAU last year (& again this year) and I'm OOS. Last year I got an interview and was waitlisted. Several of the people in my interview group were from OOS, and some of them got in. So, it may be tougher to get in, but not impossible! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kelzie
That is disappointing to hear. I'm oos, but would love to move to Arizona (have been dreaming of it for years and my s/o's family all lives there). Going to keep my fingers crossed for at least an interview! Lola
I was from oos and got in. Don't focus on that too much. Focus on what you can control. Good luck to all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ecolvard
When did you interview last year? If they save oos for last, I'm wondering when they start interviewing them? Last year I interviewed at the very end of November. I assumed I interviewed so late because I didn't get my application in until August. I got my application submitted in May this year so I was hoping I would get an earlier interview… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

mtorr_ca
I sent my graduate app & CASPA around July 24th. I got confirmation on my grad app on 7/25. Does NAU send out separate emails confirming receipt of CASPA apps?
ajames
I never received a confirmation email on my caspa app but caspa says they received it. I was worried more about the graduation app because I wanted to make sure I applied correctly. So you should be in the clear!
