**PLEASE HELP !! Transcript Question for CASPA

Recommended Posts

Hello !

I will be applying this upcoming cycle (2017-2018) and I have a couple questions about sending my transcripts to CASPA. I am currently taking a couple of prerequisites along with my regular coursework and will be graduating in late May. I am going to wait until spring grades are posted before I send my transcripts to CASPA seeing as that I am currently taking prerequisites. My question is, should I wait just the estimated 2 weeks for my university to post grades and send my transcripts to CASPA or should i wait an estimated 6-8 weeks in order for my "degree to be posted" on the transcript to show CASPA and the programs that I am applying to that I graduated with my Bachelors? I know that a Bachelors degree is a requirement for every school that I am applying to but do they need to see this in my CASPA application?  If not there, then when/where would they see that I have a degree? As I understand it, you can only send one batch of transcripts to CASPA, correct? Maybe some of you that have applied before can shed some light on what you did. Thank you in advance.

Well, many people apply to PA schools requiring a bachelor's degree while they're in their senior year of undergrad so they don't have their bachelor's degree yet but still get accepted before they graduate. I'm not 100% sure since I wasn't in that situation, but I think there's something to indicate whether or not you'll have your bachelor's degree by X date and I know you'll have to fill in any in-progress or planned coursework. If there aren't further grades to be posted after those extra weeks have passed and it's just going to post that the degree was awarded, I'd think you'd be fine to go ahead and send them in once you have your grades posted and it wouldn't hurt to just email your schools and let them know of whatever else will be appearing on your transcripts later on and you can send updated stuff to the programs individually if they need it.

I wouldn't advise waiting 6-8 weeks solely to have your degree posted on your transcript. I do think it's worthwhile to wait until your Spring semester grades have posted as you're planning to do because you're taking pre-requisites this semester. If the schools you're applying to don't do rolling admissions, it's a moot point in regards to waiting or not as you just have to have your application submitted prior to deadline. If your intended schools do participate in rolling admissions, the earlier you submit the better.
