Online Biochemistry at UC San Diego Extension

Recommended Posts

Has anyone taken Introduction to Biochemistry online through UC San Diego Extension? I am contemplating taking this course but there is no access to the syllabus before enrollment, so I have no idea what the course entails. I also need to submit documentation of the course to my job prior to enrollment for partial tuition reimbursement. I really do appreciate it if anyone can help!

Does anyone recommend a different online Biochemistry course? I have taken Organic Chemistry and Medical Terminology through UNE and I would prefer to avoid taking Biochemistry there as well.

Bumping this thread because I'd love to know anyone's experience with UCSD's biochemistry course. I'm contemplating between UCSD or UNE.

Thanks !

I took Doane University's online Biochem course and it was phenomenal. It was challenging, but the professor has designed the course to ensure that you are learning the material. I truly loved this course. I have heard horror stories from UCSD requiring 20 plus hours a week of work with little

Feedback on assignments. Professor Beio at Doane provides great feedback and has a variety of assignments so you always have a chance to bring up a rough grade. I have all of my assignments and syllabus if you wanna look over it.

I am interested too. Can I see the syllabus too? Is it okay if this is an online course?

Would you be kind enough to send me a link to taking the course. I really need this to be able to apply this cycle but do not have any near by college to take it in person. I wanted more information about the biochemistry course and details of the class so i can make sure the program i am applying to will accept it. IF you can message me that will be great thanks.

Hi, I took the course earlier this year. It is classified as an "introductory" course, so beware of that. There is an exam each week of the course, and they are not proctored. There are no midterm or final exams. There is one paper due at the end of the course. I don't have the syllabus on hand, but it was worth taking since it only took about two months to finish.

How difficult would you say the course is? Would it be possible to take this and genetics at the same time?
