Yale Waitlist 16/17 - Current & Waitlisted Students

Recommended Posts

I wanted to start a topic about the waitlist. I interviewed 11/9 and was waitlisted 11/23. I just want to know a few answers before I say I want to stay on the waitlist.

I have a few questions for current students/waitlisted people:

1. How many people are typically put on the waitlist?

2. Has anyone gotten in from the waitlist from the previous classes - about how many? I know David emailed us and said it was unpredictable - I get it. But just wanted to know the previous classes numbers if current students could provide an estimate? At what point did you get in if you were offered admission from waitlist?

3.  How many applicants applied to Yale this year?

Holdin' in there strong. I was impressed with the caliber of student at my interview session and know that people from everywhere applied. I have a few other offers but love Yale, and think I want to be on the waitlist.   However, some of the other schools start in June whereas Yale starts in August. Anyone else have this problem? I know a few other schools start in January!

Thank you in advance, good luck to you all!

Hi all!

I was accepted off of the Yale wait-list for the PA class of 2018.

I was interviewed in mid-November '15, felt it went really well...but got notified I was placed on the waitlist on 11/30. Whenever Yale checked back every couple months asking if I wanted to remain, I said yes.

In the meantime, I got accepted to attend MCPHS in Boston, and was fully planning on going there...I honestly totally had Yale completely out of my mind but all of a sudden on MAY 19th (!!!) Yale notified me I had been accepted. Needless to say, I declined my other acceptance, and now here I am at Yale!

Not sure how many in my class came off the wait-list...couldn't be too many.

So moral of the story...if you really want it, worth holding out hope.
