lifesaver1993
I was recently offered a vascular surgery position at a large hospital. I will be primarily managing patients on the floor, not in the OR very often at all except during my training. I am really looking forward to this job and think I will have the opportunity to learn alot! Does anyone have any general tips for the job or for studying? Any textbooks/study guides that you recommend for vascular conditions? Any advice would be much appreciated!
KarenHeinz
1. Vascular patients have multiple comorbidities, and tend to be older. This complicates their management. 2. Risk factors for vascular disease and the disease processes are the same as for coronary artery, renal artery, and cerebrovascular disease; the arteries are just in a different location. 3. Address the risk factors: advise smoking cessation, control blood pressure to 140/90 mmHg, start aspirin/clopidogrel and simvastatin 40mg/day even if cholesterol levels are normal (unless contraindicated) ______________________ cheap essay writing service
