Other: eveything is done in house so lots of procedures to learn from, only one doctor to work with and his personality seems very inviting. He expects max 4 pts an hour. When I asked about training he said I would see my own pts which are already established at the practice and if I had questions he'll be there for me to ask. There is no electronic Med records.

About me: Mom of 1 and my goal was to work in Derm/ cosmetic/ mohs ( that didn't work out) but also liked primary care. I feel plastic is a once in a life time and later I can get good hours plus the pay is better and I have higher than average student loans. However, FM is located where the cost of living is cheaper and the hours are great and that could still get me into derm later.

I did not negotiate these offers as of yet, so open to suggestions!

Do you like surgery?  Plus plastic surgery is very different from "normal" surgery.  Yes, the pay will be higher, but your patients will be very different than the normal - that can be both a good or bad thing (at the same time!! haha)

The plastic surgery job sounds pretty good, but it's all about what you want to do.  If you are correct this plastic surgery practice takes on new grads eagerly, you might not have much room to negotiate.  I'm not sure why they pay towards a car payment.  Honestly, I would try to trade that "benefit" toward a higher starting salary and more starting PTO.  I would personally shoot for 3 weeks PTO, 5 days sick/personal, and 5 days CME.  Also, New Jersey is higher than average cost of living if I'm not mistaken - so I would really try to shoot for closer to $100k starting salary, or maybe a defined annual "loan repayment."

Thanks for responding

They gave the good old "This is the standard for every new grad."

The car payment is because the job involves quite a bit of traveling because of the different office locations.

Also, I have had no experience with plastic not even a rotation
