Hey everyone! I received my acceptance back in September and am very excited to meet you all in May. Just wondering if anyone has received any other news from RFUMS since they accepted their seat to the class. If not, does anyone have an idea of when we will get more information on stuff like housing, financial aid, student affairs, etc. I am guessing maybe after all the interviews are completed?

I read in the RFUMS Accepted Class of 2018 forum that they had an "Accepted Student Visit Event" in January last year. Does anyone know if we will be having a similar Accepted Student Visit Day? I would love to attend this event, but I need to take off work in advance. If anyone is aware of a prospective date, please let me know!

Someone from the first year class responded to our Facebook page (btw, join. It's called "RFUMS PA Class of 2019") and said its scheduled for February 11th this year. Still waiting for an email/accepted student package though.

I have a couple of questions to current students. Is didactic or clinical year more difficult and why? Also, a friend of mine is in dental school and says she has to take a bunch of "filler" classes like histology, microbiology, etc. that are not directly related to dentistry. Does the RFU PA program have these type of "filler" classes or are all of our classes going to be straight and to the point since we only have a year? Thanks

There's a saying that your worst day of clinical year will still be better than your best day of didactic year... and I fully agree on that! You're significantly more busy didactic year, at least one exam per week, mandatory classes 9-5, and needing to study every night. Clinical year is mostly just your job, and one exam every 6 weeks. Plus you're out doing things and applying what you've learned.

There are no "filler" classes as these are required prerequisites. You can find the course list with class descriptions on Rosalind's website!

Yep I agree with the above! The only "filler" clas would be gross anatomy but that's an extremely important class. Currently in the spring semester, literally can't wait to get to get to clinicals to apply the knowledge I have. Didactic year is tough. It's the amount of information we are learning that makes it difficult. Sitting in class from 8-5 and then studying until 11 really is exhausting. But you get used to it and it moves fast
