MEDEX Seattle Interview 9/29/16

Recommended Posts

Felt it would be prudent to make a separate thread for those wanting to meet up before the interview, share anxious thoughts, offer help to those coming from out-of-town on place to stay (if you haven't found one already), transport, etc.

@fluidworks I'd definitely like to meet up before the big day. For pubs, the College Inn, in the U-District, has big tables and is in walking distance of the hotels suggested in the mailing info. There are also many fairly cheap restaurants around the area.

One week!

I replied to @fluidworks as well but I would interested in meeting the day before. I'm not really familiar with the Seattle are but I'm staying at the Marriott. Here's my number in case I don't get back on here before Thursday... (940) 642-5909.

Looking forward to meeting all of you during lunch on Thursday! Sounds like there will be several 1st year students, along with some 2nd year and recent grads there to answer questions you may have about the program.

If anyone has any questions before the interview, please don't hesitate to ask (I'm pretty busy with school, but will try & check back on here tomorrow and Wednesday). Good luck everyone... And don't forget to enjoy this time and have fun on interview day!

@fluidworks use the "Link" Light Rail to get from SeaTac (follow signs out of the terminal, thru the parking garage to the station) to the UW area, the last stop on the train. Then uber or walk from there. Train ride is about 45 mins, $3.

Ramen is the first healthy-ish option that comes to mind in the u district near campus...Samurai Noodle on the ave.

Does anyone know if this was the first round of interviews? I ask because my application was verified July 7th, 2017 and I'm wondering if I did get an interview, if this would be when I should expect it. I know the application cycle is shorter this year and not sure how that affects things. Thank you!

Over the last few years, yes, this (late September) has generally been the timeframe for the first Seattle interview.

Not an expert *my wife is in Anchorage class 8* but I believe each site does one interview and then an overall one for all sites in January. One of my wife's classmates flew to Seattle from Anchorage and interviewed for the Anchorage site. So hang in there and January is when you truly know.
Last year Seattle did 3 (or maybe it was 4) interview sessions.....
