I started looking at all of the matriculation paperwork on the website, got my Texas tech email address, and even started browsing apartments in the area. So excited! pdbhakta Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 Hey everyone! I was accepted on 9/9 and since then I've had a few more interview offers, but I'm set on Tech! Ive started gathering my paperwork, immunization record, etc. and I'll most likely wait for everything else once I'm done traveling. I've been looking for apartments right now too. I'm not sure if I should lock in a lease asap or wait it out until February (oil price flux is causing a problem)... I know a few of the PA students from this current year are staying at the Sundance but that place is way overpriced (or I may just be too cheap haha) Anyways, for everyone that has committed to Tech and wants to talk PA school (or anything at all), send a PM and we can talk more! I've been looking at places near the school, but won't contact the apartment places until two months before May. My experiences living in apartments the last 8 years is that they don't have any idea of the occupancy situations until two months before your move in date, due to people putting in their 60 day notices. TexasPrePA Posted January 9, 2017 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Once you are on the group FB page, try to see where the majority of your classmates are interested in staying. Look at new complexes too! If you can go in as a group and get "x" number of people to sign there, some complexes will give you a killer deal! Most of my class is living at Sundance because we all got a great deal they were running before classes started AND they gave all PA students an additional 5% discount on our rent. TTPA '19 Posted January 21, 2017 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Congratulations to all in the 2019 PA cohort. I've initiated a Google+ at "TTUHSC - PA Class of 2019." This type of site will be sustainable throughout our program. The first "community forum" (left column) titled "Prior to Entering" has been opened and we can share questions, answers, and comments on subjects such as housing in Midland, sharing transportation there, going to conferences, preparation suggestions, etc.... When we begin our program, "community forums" can be opened for study groups, special events/interests, and fun stuff. Eventually the face page will have a better design and more user friendly. Also, I will administrate an email address: ttuhsc.pa2019@gmail.com for those who want to share their personal contact information with our cohort or specific individuals in the cohort, at your request. Please include your user name from this forum and that of another person used on this forum. I look forward to meeting each one of you and enjoying this journey together.
