Just heard a few days ago about an interview on September 14th!

I'll see you there :) - I'm a little nervous that they've been accredited for so long and that they had their accreditation but on probationary status - from what I've looked up we can't even matriculate if the accreditation isn't reinstated, correct? I'm not completely sure how that works though. I've heard they've made a lot of changes but I've heard of other schools whose accreditation was ultimately revoked and they've had to send students to other schools to finish - I'm a little nervous about that but their most recent PANCE scores are encouraging - what do you think?

Is34,

That is incorrect, you can matriculate despite having a probation status.  I interviewed last year (placed on stand-by list) and they spoke about this at some length. They have a new director that has made some changes and pointing everything in the right direction. Pretty solid school I thought. Best of luck.

Thanks for the information! That makes me feel better, it does seem like a very solid program and the class after the one that didn't do well on the PANCE and rated the school poorly improved their PANCE scores and their satisfaction with the school, which is great news. Did you apply again this cycle or matriculate elsewhere? Thanks!

I did! I'm leaning towards that this isn't a good sign?

Hey Cbrutts,

I got the checklist too but it wasn't accurate at all. For example, it said I was missing an English class. I have a BA in English so I'm not sure how they came to that conclusion. So maybe it's not a bad sign!

Did I also see you on the DeSales forum btw? Are you interviewing there as well?

Congrats! When were you verified?

I was verified June 10th.

I got into Philly U, so I canceled this interview since their program did not seem as strong due to this. If they remain on probation, you cannot take your PANCE I believe until they are off of it since you won't be coming from an accredited school, but that may be incorrect. This is when they'd send you to another school to finish most likely. You can matriculate and finish the program. I did see that they wrote up a plan to make the program better, and it really seems like it may be good and turn it around. A PA I work with knows the new director and said she believes he will do great things with the program so hopefully things turn up. Good luck at the interview!

Accreditation-Probation is a temporary, status of accreditation, limited to two years, granted when a program holding an accreditation status of accreditation-provisional or accreditation-continued does not meet the Standards and when the capability of the program to provide an acceptable educational experience for its students is threatened.  Once placed on probation, a program that fails to comply with accreditation requirements in a timely manner, as specified by the ARC-PA, may be scheduled for a focused site visit and/or risk having its accreditation withdrawn.

You may still take the PANCE if you graduate from a program on probation

oh no! Do you have an interview at Salus though? I have an interview on 10/5 at Salus and one on 11/2 at DeSales.

Even with the interview at Salus, I still got the email with the checklist about the classes I'm missing (which like I stated before, is pretty flawed). Do you live in the area then?

I have to say after my interview today I am beyond impressed. I felt so comfortable, so welcomed. I think the new Program Director is incredible  (she was at Arcadia before where they had 100% PANCE pass rates) and she was so forthcoming and honest about the accreditation issue, knew it was something we would think about, and was forthright about everything. The students seem incredible and I love that during your didactic phase you quickly get your feet wet with actual patient care within the second month or so, so by the time you enter your clinical phase you feel confident and prepared. I have to say this program was a little bit of a dark horse for me, but the interview, faculty, staff, and changes to the curriculum blew me out of the water. Very nervous to hear back, this has turned into a frontrunner for me despite the positive experiences I've had at other interviews.

Got an email from them today

The Admissions Committee is continuing to review a large volume of applications.  At this time,  you have not yet been selected to interview.   Please note however that your application is still active and will be reviewed periodically for possible interview and admission consideration throughout the current admission cycle.

not sure if i should be sad cause its not an interview invite or happy cause its not a denial

Ableddy,

I received the same email about an hour ago! I'm not sure what the likelihood of getting an interview based on this status (I'm a first time applicant and I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing). However, I think we should be happy! We're still in the running!

Do you mind telling us when you were verified?
