Hello! Did you receive a confirmation email and then an interview invite or was the first email from them an interview invite?

Hey there! I received several emails from them in this order:

May 31 - receipt of initial application

June 6 - receipt of complete application

June 15 - notification of being on the "interview-hold" list

July 19 - formal interview invitation with the interview date

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I was caspa verified 7/20 and I still haven't heard anything. What does interview hold list mean?

I'm not entirely sure what the interview hold list means. In talking with my friends who are current PA students at Iowa, they said that it is a new thing.

Hfillman - I also received an invite for the Aug 26-27 interview! I had to reschedule it to the next one though, Oct 6-7. I had my CASPA verified near when you did and received the same emails, including the interview hold one. Maybe it was just to let us know we were still being considered without offering an actual interview?

That is what I was guessing. Since it was sent out so early in the summer I feel like it was their way of letting us know ahead of time that we would be getting an interview but maybe they didn't have the dates set up yet. Best of luck to you at your interview in October!!

I received an email 7/12 stating that they have received my CASPA application and the formal application review process will begin a week from the time of receipt. Is that the initial email you received or was that the complete application email?

Not sure what else I would be missing to make my app "complete". There isn't a secondary correct?

Thanks!

I think that I only received a completed application email because I still had one letter of recommendation missing when I originally submitted my app. There is not a secondary application for Iowa.

@sirkrimzon I look forward to meeting you at the interview!

I will also be attending the interview on the 26th-27th. Can't wait to meet everyone and learn more about the program. Does anyone know what exactly the MMI session consists of? Is it individual or group? With students, alumni, or faculty?

The MMI is ten 6-8 min individual interviews. If I had to guess, we will be interviewing with people with different involvements in the program!

It's the final countdown. See you all in a few days!

The interviews went great! The information session and tour on the Friday before was a perfect way to get to know some of the faculty and made the actual interview much less stressful because everyone is so nice there. For future interviewees, dress for that Friday is more business casual instead of business formal. I didn't realize that so I wanted to give you all a heads up!

The actual interview is an interesting set up, but I personally liked it. You have 10 different stations, with 10 minutes total at each station. Two minutes to read the scenario and form your answer, then 8 minutes to talk to someone one on one. They have questions to guide you through so try not to stress about trying to talk for the full 8 minutes.

I received a call from the school yesterday letting me know that I had been accepted! The quick turn around was a pleasant surprise! They said that they will let people know anywhere from now until late December if they have been accepted.

Let me know if you have any more questions about the process. Good luck everyone!
