Student Society's

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently became president of my class and I am wondering what your programs are doing to get students involved in the community etc and also within the class itself. What fundraisers do you do (for the class not just the community!). While I have been in leadership positions before I have never sat in on a student society type position such as this so I am hoping to get a few ideas as to how to run it.

At the University of Washington, our Tacoma program has developed a foot clinic that helps the homeless with foot care.  Our Seattle program is teaming with the dental students to do a clinic for low income students about an hour north of the city.  In terms of nonmedical community projects, we've participated in homeless counts, clothing drives and a few other projects.

Hey congrats on becoming president! I'm not in PA school yet, but once I am this is something I really want to do. I want to become president of my class and help out the PA profression. I don't really have any leadership roles though.. Any advice? Thank you!
