Hello

My name is Michelle Davis and I just applied for the third time. I just received notice about the workshops. I would like to attend both seminars but I am only able to attend the January 21st seminar due to a very important prior engagement on the 14th of January. Will this have any affect on my admission to the program?

To answer a few questions I have received about the workshops:

All information and the application to use is in the letter.

We cannot use the information from your application to substitute for the workshop application.

It will not impact your chances in any way if you are not able to attend.

Participating does not guarantee admission to the program.

You will get a chance to learn more about the program, and we will get to learn more about you.

Thanks to all who have submitted an application we look forward to seeing you.

I would like to thank everyone that came out for the 14th workshop. I hope you found the information useful for applying and interviewing at PA programs. You now know quite a bit about the process. Next Saturday you can have an opportunity to apply that knowledge. Remember everything is a test. Treat it like the real thing. You will be meeting with faculty. They will be paying attention to detail. Treat is like the real deal.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any more participants at this time. Sorry

Hello. I am a little late to the party about the workshops but live in San Diego regardless so it would be difficult to make. Was just curious if the information from the workshops is available electronically or if something can be mailed.

Thank you

Hello cgbloke

Welcome to the forum. The individual presentations were on experiences and observations about: training programs with similar mission, admissions, applicants, and successful students. Sorry, but you had to be there. Don't have that information for distribution. I tend to quote Rodican because well...he's right. The other presenters have ten years experience with the program and the ADCOM. I thought they were pretty transparent about what they looked for in an applicant. Comparative information on the PA programs discussed can be found on their WEB site. The information on state and federal scholarships and loan payment can be found online. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/755950

Good luck in your future PA endeavors. There is plenty of information on the forum. Please reseach and know the mission of the SJVC Primary Care PA program...IMHO that's step one.

Wow..Thanks Lesh, some really great info there! Gotta say this is the most information I have gotten from my top three schools. Have definitely secured the #1 spot. Being this helpful for an applicant shows a lot. Really look forward to meeting other representatives from your program.

The Faculty/Staff would like to thank everyone participating in these workshops. Especially the SJVC Senior and Jr Students, they did a great job. We may consider a greater role for the students in future admission cycles based on Saturday. For the pre-PAs you showed great professionalism in approaching the task at hand. Thank you. It will take a week to review the comments and recommendations. We will send out letters that summarize interviewers comments. Thank you again for your participation. We hope you found the experience useful. Good luck in your future PA endeavors.

  • 2 weeks later...
Hello Les,

I am trying to tentatively arrange time-off from work for the upcoming interviews.

If I may, which days do you plan on holding interviews?

We should start calling people for interviews starting the 18th. That's all I can say for certain at this time. Applications are still coming in post marked. We are still screening applications. I suggest waiting to hear from the program and take it from there.
