best study music

Recommended Posts

I can't do music with lyrics because I get too distracted, so all my suggestions will be mainly musical:

Tycho - Awake

Helios - Yume

Vessels - Dilate

God is an Astronaut - Self-titled album

Explosion in the Sky - The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place --> these guys did the Lone Survivor soundtrack, if you're familiar with the movie.

Eluvium - Copa

These are my favorite albums by these groups but I would recommend almost any of their work. I could go on and on but I'll spare you guys.

Any music by Skrillex- It definitely keeps you awake and going. Minimal lyrics and great beats. I read somewhere in a book called "Study without stress" that we were required to read during our first quarter of PA school. It that listening to music is a bad idea when studying. If I didn't have music I wouldn't have made it through didactic year! I've got lots of playlists made on Amazon music.

I would've never taken Skrillex to be good study music -- it seemed to be too in-your-face to be good for studying, but now that I've tried it I see what you mean. Good stuff.

Yes some tracks are in your face but that's what I needed while studying some topics that were brutally dry. Check out Lindsey Sterling... Dub-step + violinist. Gets the neurons firing!

I like to listen to 8tracks and I usually will enter in a playlist that is along the lines of "jazz, instrumental, study." Like many people said, I cannot focus if the music has lyrics. Definitely there are some good recommendations here I might try to incorporate more into my studying.

I tried the whole jazz stuff. I like jazz but it made the perfect recipe for sleep when I was studying health maintenance and vitamins/supplements.

Give flux pavilion a try. More lyrics but same up-beat tempo.
