Arthropathy
Does recent cortisone injection scew an MRI reading? As in, can I put 5ccs of fluid into a shoulder and then order an MRI later this week or do I need to wait some amount of time for a clean read? Joints vs tendon sheaths? AbeTheBabe
From what my supervising doc said, it's nice to wait a week so it doesn't affect the image but it's not critical.
KetteringPA
Its certainly not critical, however I have seen mri reports read as having subacromial bursitis vs recent injection.
GetMeOuttaThisMess
Back in '80's, ESI done several weeks before showed intraoperative adherence to the spinal sac which had been noted on CT (pre-MRI). If it showed on CT it certainly would've been there on MRI.
