I'm not located in Oregon, but do practice CC; this seems like a fairly strong offer. Their expectations for patient load are fairly realistic starting out. Do you have any relevant previous HCE? Functioning as a CC provider has quite a step learning curve, with no margin for error, even with close supervision. I'd honestly avoid it fresh out of school w/o previous RT/RN/Paramedic experience. Of course, YMMV.

Was a primary response paramedic for about 5 years with some critical care transports experience mixed in.  EMT for about a decade prior to that.  Joined the SCCM, got Marino's and have subscribed to about every podcast out there.  Appreciate the feedback, and more than willing to take any advice you've got!

Sounds like a primo opportunity then if you think critical care is for you. Agree with Marino, I'd also add the obvious Uptodate. As for podcasts, my favorite so far is EMCrit, yet another opinionated dude there. Finding a nonresident shop is also a nice bonus when in comes to focusing on procedures, taking on more complex patients etc. Another question to consider about the offer: any call requirements?
