I was CASPA verified on 7/27 but haven't received a link with a supplemental app? I found it on the website and already filled it out but should I wait for the link?

If I didn't get an email, is that a bad sign?

I would email them and make sure they received your application.  It could just be that they are processing a lot right now, or there could have been an issue.  It never hurts to double check!

should everyone fill out the supplemental, or do they only send out to qualified applicants? I was verified over a month ago and still have not received any type of email from them.

@ phungky_town that link doesn't work for me, could you resend it?

Hello,

The link to the supplemental app is here at the top right of the page below "Admission to the PA Program": http://www.utoledo.edu/med/grad/pa/admissions.html

As far as I know from the info session, everyone is required to fill out the supplemental app. HTH

Here's a prerequisite question...

On the supplemental app it states that courses "must be taken from Fall 2008 to June 2016." I have one class I took Winter semester 2008, technically outside the window, and emailed Janis about it, to which she replied, "Prerequisites must be completed between Fall 2007 and June 16, 2016." Looks like I don't have to retake the class! Hooray! But now again I saw on CASPA that courses "Must be taken from Fall 2008 to June 2016." Technically, Fall 2008 would be 8 years, and Winter 2008 would be 8.5 years. So now I'm all nervous that there was a miscommunication somewhere or Janis made a typo. Think I should I retake the class, just to be safe?

Hello to everyone applying this year!  I just finished my first week in the UTPA program and remembered how I was feeling last year at this time (CASPA was due Sept 1st I believe).  I just want everyone logging into here to know that of the 6 schools I applied to last year, UT was (BY FAR) the school that communicated the best to all applicants.  Just to give everyone a quick timeline of last years events: I received a standard e-mail in mid-Sept that my CASPA and Supp App have been verified and received.  Jan 5th everyone got an e-mail saying they were starting to send out intverview invites beginning the following week.  Interviews went through March.  On April 17th, the e-mail was sent to everyone stating that their first 45 invitations were sent out (I wasn't one), everyone else who interviewed goes onto the waitlist.  On April 30th, I got my phone call!  Believe me, from right now, until you hear you got accepted (or declined) it will seem like the longest wait of your life.

My advice at this point is to dot your i's, cross your t's and keep building your CV in case you need to apply again.

I second what PA2017guy said! I also applied last year and unfortunately got waitlisted without an acceptance. UT is one of the schools that interviews in the early spring, so be ready to wait. I am reapplying this year because I had such a good impression during my interview...their facilities are top-of-the-line and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Good luck to all!

Hello PA201, and thank you for sharing. Can you give us insight as to the interview questions you were asked? Also, did they interviewed you more than once? I ask because I'm an out of state student, and need to know how long I may have to plan to stay in the area. I like this school, and I'm hoping I pass this selection process.

Leo,

The one on one interview questions differ based on who you get. I know the last interview cycle we all had different types of questions. However, the main thing is that they want to get to know you. Just be yourself and try to kick out all the nervous jitters. The group portion was ethical scenarios. Try not to rehearse too much to where the answers just sound like robotic. Remember, they are tryin go get to know you on a personal level. Somehow, they was able to get our class with similar personalities, be yourself.

Thank you Seaweed1029, and Humbleguy. I have been absent due to the birth of a child. I'm a little anxious since this is my first time, but I feel pretty comfident. All I can do is be myself, and give Answers to the best of my knowledge. As most candidates I just want to start the program and begin the learning process. We really appreciate all the imput you can give us on this forum, since this is a life changing step for the great majority of us.
