Hi,

Yesterday I received a courtesy email regarding my missing prerequisites. Does anyone know the protocol for how they handle applications that have outstanding prerequisites? I was told that having courses in progress does not hinder my application, but I was wondering how it affects the timing of an interview invite (just trying to think optimistically hehe). I will finish 2 required prereqs this Summer, 2 in Fall, and last 1 in Spring. :/

Since it's so early in the application cycle I thought I would hold off on emailing the school with questions and see if anyone has had experience with this on here.

Hope everyones having a great summer!

I went to the open house at the Jacksonville location and this is what she said. With so many applications to the programs, usually those who have all prereq's completed are put to the top of the pile for interviews.

She made a big deal about being burnt in the past with student's who had outstanding prereq's and then their gpa falling below the required 3.0.

One, or two at the most, should be in progress at the time that CASPA app is submitted but she strongly urged people to finish their prereq's before submitting to be more competitive.

Sorry to put a damper on your app but I would work hard to build everything up and then apply next year if you are still going to be taking prereq's in the fall and spring.

Last year when I was interviewed I was still taking Chem 2 and was signed up for Organic in the fall. I got accepted prior to them knowing the grades for either of those classes. They do tell you that you have to get a certain grade in them, but it didn't cause me any issues with getting an interview/accepted. I have however taken a lot of medically related and difficult classes and had a high science gpa even without those two classes.

hello everyone, I finally decided to make an account! Today I received a call from Anthony from the Orlando campus and said that all four programs I applied to had received my required documentation and that in a few weeks  I could expect something in the mail and also by email.  Has anyone else had this phone call?

I just got a phone call saying my stuff was received. He probably said you would hear something in the next few weeks because it is getting close to them starting interview calls.;)

I received similar phone call about 4 weeks ago....can't remember if they said admissions would review my app in next 2-4 weeks or that I would hear something. Either way, the only correspondence I received so far is the courtesy email regarding my outstanding prerequisites.

As far as pre-reqs go, what I understood from a phone call and posted criteria... you can only have up to 2 missing "science" pre-reqs when applying and both need to be finished by May of year of matriculation. You can have more than 2 pre-reqs total in progress/planned but others would have to be non-science.

I'm still awaiting supplemental link to submit that part, how long does it typically take?

Probation status was due to an error with a system that tracked student clinical hours. Because the system messed up and they couldn't produce the information they needed to at the time they were put on probation. It doesn't matter if the school is on probation when you start as it will not affect your ability to sit for the PANCE or graduate etc. They have since fixed the issue and are just waiting for ARC-PA to come back now.  The school has had a 100% PANCE pass rate for many years so the probabtion status is nothing to worry about.
