According to the forum from last cycle it seems interviews are June through August. Some took place in September, but seats were filled by then so those interviews were for wait list seats. South notified interviewees ahead of time about that (which was very courteous!)

I plan on applying to South University soon but my GRE score is pretty low. I know their website mentioned that 50th percentile & above is favored. Does anyone know if anyone with scores below the 50th percentile have been accepted?

My stats:
GRE 149V, 149Q, 3.5W (most recent) // 147V, 150Q, 4.0W
cGPA 3.97, sGPA 3.95
HCE: 870+ hours as Medical Assistant // 300 hours as Surgical Assistant
Research: 400 Hours (organometallic chemistry)
Shadowing: 40 hours (Surgical PA, FP PA) // 11 hours (Cardiac Surgeon, FP MD)
2/4 Strong LORs, 2/4 Decent LOR

Hello everyone. My application is submitted, just waiting for transcripts to arrive so it can be verified. South is my number one choice and I'm seriously praying for at least an interview. My stats are pretty low... No HCE, below average cGPA and below recommended sGPA. But, I just finished a year of grad school in biomedical science while working full time as a GSA teaching undergraduate A&P labs. I'm hoping that combined with a solid statement and LOR's will give them the "whole person" picture they're looking for... Crossing my fingers! Also have about 30 hrs shadowing a PA in neurosurgery.

Anyone apply to South with outstanding prereqs?  It seems (from talking with them) they only offer waitlist status to those with outstanding courses?  Is that right? I am applying but have three weeks left in my spring organic, and a summer course. :((

@karebear12892- you have three outstanding courses?

I am a current student. I had below 50% GRE. Just be able to rationalize why.

I applied to South the other day!

cGPA: 3.64

sGPA: 4.0

GRE: 155V 157Q 4.0W

HCE: 1,400 as a Nurse Tech on an Orthopedic floor in the hospital

Shadowing: 24 (not a whole lot)

Volunteering: 100+ hospital, 100+ orphanage overseas

Other: Chemistry tutor at my university for a year

Strong LOR and Personal statement.

I'm a bit non-tradition since I got my undergrad in a non-science major but I hope that my post-bacc prereqs will show that I am serious and committed to this career choice.

Good luck everyone!!

I received an email from south u today that my application was received and is being reviewed... Does anyone know what their timeline is for reviewing applications and notifying applicants whether or not they've been invited for an interview?

Just skimmed through last year's application thread - looks like they were inviting applicants for interviews in June of last year, so those of us who applied early should be hearing back very soon!

I hope you're right! I'm trying to make a backup plan in case I don't get in, so I just want to know one way or another. If I'm not accepted I'm planning on doing CNA training this summer and reapplying next year with a good amount of HCE. I'm so nervous!
