mguns116
Quick question, how important is it that we have the exact course subject, because some of my subjects are not listed in CASPA, for example my introduction to college course, and a course called "Grand Challenges", but I can't find anything similar to this in the listed subjects. Also, it listed some of my CAS grades different from the grades I entered, is this supposed to happen? Thanks!
mguns116
Also I took a&p 1 and 2, so should I put the course subject as biology? Or make one anatomy and one physiology?
cop to pa
Put it in as close to what your transcript says as possible, so it doesn't get kicked back during evaluation. There is a course subject of "other health profession" that I used for many of my allied health courses, if that helps.
gdavila91
Hi, I also had a freshman course to get us acquainted with college. I put it under "orientation" and am hoping it will be okay. For anatomy/physio I put it under biology because it was termed "BIOL 177/178" for my school.
gdavila91
Oh and for the difference in grades. It happened to me when I initially put one grade then changed it. CAS kept the original grade so I just undid it and entered the course/grade all over.
mguns116
Awesome, thanks! CAS changed the grades when I went back in and re-entered
NC30
I want to say put in A&P I and II as Anatomy and Physiology as opposed to just general Biology.
ddisilvestro
You should select the closest to what you think your courses match (if they are not included on the list). However, you can also contact customer service with these questions, as they will re-categorize improper course categories during their verification process. had1118
Danielle, Will those "re-categorized" courses cause the application to be "undelivered"? I had a few I changed the verbiage on because when I reviewed them after entering them most of the information was clipped or cut off. Not sure how much you actually see on your end so I changed them to abbreviated versions of what was listed on my transcripts. I don't feel like I had trouble categorizing them-just concerned about verbiage. Thanks!
JoshB
Is anyone else having problems with the transcript entry? I can't find any selection for "AP" or "CLEP" courses, nor differences between pre-reqs and non pre-reqs anywhere. I emailed CAPSA with a few questions and they didn't answer this one... AliB
Is anyone else having problems with the transcript entry? I can't find any selection for "AP" or "CLEP" courses, nor differences between pre-reqs and non pre-reqs anywhere. I emailed CAPSA with a few questions and they didn't answer this one... When entering all your coursework, there is no difference between pre-reqs and other classes. If a particular program wants you to indicate what courses you think fulfill their pre-reqs, they'll have you do that under Program Materials (or separately). As far as AP & CLEP, the CASPA FAQ says: You may only report test credit if you were awarded credit by one of the colleges you attended for your performance on the test. This includes Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), CLEP, DANTE, REGENTS, and courses you “tested out of” at the college. These credits MUST APPEAR ON YOUR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT in order for you to report them. List test credits under your first term at the institution which awarded you the credit. Your grade is “CR” for “Credit.” If no course prefix or number is issued, you may put “N/A” for “Not Applicable.” You must list the individual courses credited to you if your transcript lists them separately. If your transcript does not break down the credit into individual courses and you know what these are, you may still break this down yourself as long as the credits add up to the correct lump sum indicated on the transcript. Thanks, but I had seen that. I was referring to when you scroll down under "Entering Course Types" But I just realized the answer to my question, I must have skipped the part that says: "Once you have entered all of your courses, a blue button will appear on the Transcript Entry page which says “Review & Finalize My Transcripts.” This process will allow you to designate specific courses as study abroad, repeated, test credit, etc."
