How easy to pick up extra shifts?

Recommended Posts

Prn UC they may want 1-4+ shifts a month and will probably ask you to work an occasional weekend. Most UC are 9-9 m to f and same or 9-5 on weekends. Anywhere you work, if they are open weekends, you will be expected to work some weekends. If you work in FM m to f, then it seems to me the only days you could work prn would be weekends.

EM and hospitals are unlikely to allow prn from a new grad without a full time job in that field. Exceptions may be if you are able to find prn in ER eg fast track, or prn doing admissions for a hospitalist group. These gigs are not that easy to come by. However UC prn shifts and also FM and occ med prn shifts are relatively easy to find. Of course depends on your location.
