Navy PA-C
I have literally walked by the president of this organization while at NHCP. Will have to make it a point to stop in and see him.
FfIghter23
He is also a veteran of the Air Force and was a civilian paramedic for 7 years prior to attending PA school. http://asp.cpmc.columbia.edu/facdb/profile_list.asp?uni=jc2009&DepAffil=Surgery Mad respect. He started at the bottom and worked his way to the very top.
DiggySRNA
Winning in all areas! This should be cited everywhere with the headline " PA-C Lead Surgeon at Columbia University Medical Center". Bring him in for a broadcast interview :D, have his colleagues chime in, and nothing can stop the profession.
Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 19, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted November 19, 2014 I would love to see a series: PAs practicing on the cutting edge of medicine, which profiles folks such as this. Next week, George Brothers, PA-C, Solo provider at rural emergency department!

Guest Paula
maybe someone who uses facebook could link this to their site....I'm not a facebook fan myself... I will, but when we post it quickly goes into a hidden feed. If AAPA posts it will stay on the site in plain view.
Guest Paula
I posted the article. It's already buried. But there was a post by AAPA of two PA students who got married and they have their WEDDING picture posted in the main feed. Good grief. Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 19, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted November 19, 2014 The PA did more surgeries than the fellows!! you are surprised a PA works harder than the docs they work with?
SoCalPA
Oh no sir. Not surprised. A lil surprised they admitted it though.
Guest Paula
AAPA responded to my post and there is an ever so slight chance that Joe could be featured by them.....I'll keep you posted. Of course, he would have to agree to it I think. But what a feature is could be........inspire surgical PAs and also PA students to see what they could be and do with hard work and dedication, and see the in-depth training he has likely had, plus the scope of practice he has! Wow!
andersenpa
Great story. Looking fwd to sharing it with the rest of my surgical group!
