Acceptance call for ALL interview dates ONLY: 2014-2015 Admissions Cycle

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to those that received the acceptance call for a seat in the Stony Brook University PA program for this admissions cycle!!!

I wanted to start this topic thread as a network and communication tool for those that got accepted from the interview dates of September 20th, October 7th, and upcoming November interview.

Until a facebook group page is up and running for our class, my goal is to make this a centralized discussion posting for those that received an acceptance call for the SBU PA class of 2017! So instead of flipping back and forth between multiple postings, this is a great "go to" resource thread to post any comments and/or questions.

1st year SBU PA Class of 2016 as well as any 2nd year SBU PA Class of 2015 are welcome to chime in on this thread as well... all of your guidances are greatly appreciated!

I look forward in meeting and getting to know my new Stony Brook PA family!

****For those that have NOT been accepted yet, please refrain from posting on this thread as this will deter the sole purpose of having this discussion thread.

I live around Stony Brook and don't really think anywhere around it is too sketchy. Living in stony brook/setauket will be the most expensive and nicer I would say, but towns like Port Jeff station, centereach, and st james are within 5-10 miles and would be cheaper but considered a little bit less nice. I would say the place to avoid if possible would be parts of port jeff station but overall you have nothing to worry about.

I am also moving from Florida to NY and was wondering what the cost would be (on average) to rent an apartment with a roommate. Also would any second year student be willing to tell us about how the diadetic year is set up? Would there be any breaks or any tine available to visit back home in florida? I know the curriculum is busy but im just curious. Thanks in advance!

I'm coming from VA and I'm wondering if I should try and move all my stuff or just sell it and start over.... I've been told it'll be way more expensive to try to move the stuff from my 1 bedroom across states.... Any current students pack up and move everything? Or should I just chuck it all and start fresh??? Man I seriously can't wait until the official acceptance email is sent out!!!

Hey guys! Congrats on your acceptances, cant wait to meet you! Im a current first year student, and am here if you have any questions! A bunch of my classmates packed everything up from all parts of the country and moved here so it's very doable. Since the cost of living is high here, save your money and dont start over! As for the schedule... theres a day or two off for labor day, and between the summer and fall we had about 5 days, but other than that, the schedule is CRAAAZYYY SO ENJOY ALL THE FREE TIME YOU HAVE NOW!!

I actually asked Audra about that and she said she's setting up a joint page after the New Year for both of our classes.

Very exciting!! can't wait for all the acceptances to be finalized. I wonder how many more calls they have to make.... I am eager to meet everyone!!

Got my official email today! However when I went to confirm my acceptance it gave me an error page after I clicked confirm ahhhh! Called the admissions office to confirm that it went through properly, but still waiting to hear back. Did anyone else have this issue?

No, I didn't have that issue. But it did take a while for it to load when I hit the accept button though...
