Waiting for Results = The Worst.

Recommended Posts

Took the PANCE on Monday (8/11).  Came out dazed, confused, and pretty sure I failed it, despite having graduated at the top of my class, studying hard before hand, and killing it on both NCCPA practice exams.  So now I'm waiting not-so-patiently (read: obsessively checking my email and the NCCPA website every hour or so) for results.  I've heard through the rumor mill that results are pretty much always posted on Thursday mornings and nothing went up today, so I'm just wondering if that's actually true.  I'm hoping I don't have another full week of anxiety and stress to look forward to, so if anyone knows anything about timing of results release, I'd be most grateful if you'd share your knowledge.  For those of you who've already been through this, how long did it take them to post your scores?

Thanks!

I took my June 27 which was a friday and got it July 3rd the following week on a Thursday. They will email you around 8:30-9am saying that your scores are posted on the NCCPA website. I know of a few classmates who took it monday-wed hoping to get the results that week itself, but instead had to wait the following week. Don't worry most people feel the way you felt when you finished the test. I thought I failed, I was like what did I just take? I was also checking every hour if they posted my scores, but my parents told me when its time to come it will come, don't kill yourself for it. Just hang in there.

I will be the first to congratulate you. You passed.

I dont know this for a fact but if what you stated is true, the odds are distinctly in your favor.

Remember this test is not a straight percentage out of all those questions. It is also how you do in relation to your peers. So likely if you are at the top of your class and killing it, that pattern will persist to a certain extent when compared to others like you.

I walked out of my PANCE in 98 knowing I passed but only thought I did OK. Scored in the 96%. Only 4% of PA students did better nationally.

Walked out of both my PANRE thinking wtf, no prep, no study, wondered what else I would like to do with my life. Scored 94% and 92% respectively.

You are likely much smarter than me.

Good luck.

I had a similar experience when I took pance and the first time I took panre. thought I failed both. in fact I have taken panre 3 times now and thought I failed each time . did very well every time. Ditto the EM CAQ. everyone thinks they failed. they are poorly written tests.

The NCCPA website has a "Verify PA Certification" tool on the home page.  I used that on the designated Thursday morning to find out if I'd passed as that was updated before the email was sent out.  I don't know if it happens like that every Thursday.  However, it worked for me and several of my classmates (who also found out before receiving the email) that day.

Just a quick update- I got my results yesterday, which was indeed a Thursday, around 10 am Eastern time.  And gbrothers98, you were right- I did pass it.  :)  Thanks so much for all the encouragement, and best of luck to all those who are still waiting or will be soon!

Kate

Congratulations!!!

I took it yesterday... really hating this whole waiting thing.

Long wait......

Here is some perspective.

Graduated Labor Day weekend 1998.

Everyone that graduated waited till first week of October to take test.

Got results mid December.

If you failed could not take test again till April.

I also had to walk through a hurricane to get to the testing station.

Kids these days.

agree. I took it a few years earlier when it was only offered once/yr in October. I flew across country to take it as you could only take it at a PA program and the conventional wisdom was to take it on home turf. I had moved to CA after graduation so had to come back to Hahnemann. . the test then was a week long with 3 written and 3 practical components. I got my results xmas eve, basically 2.5 months later. Big envelope. kept my job.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was one of the lucky ones! I took it the morning of 9/5 and heard yesterday morning. It is true...you walk out of there with a feeling of utter devastation. I felt confident with maybe 40 questions. The rest are a complete blur. I've never felt that far from confidence in my entire life. Somehow.....I passed.....and easily at that.

***If it was easy, everyone would be doing it***
