Old style heavy weighted scrubs

Recommended Posts

Anyone able to provide a source for the old-school, heavy weighted cotton scrubs?  They came in a multitude of colors, as long as they were grey.  If available still, I'm sure that other color options would be available.  Not interested in the newer, thin fabric style.  Looking for something that would actually help repel a breeze when weather turns colder in the year.

I examined a patient today and she had on really thick scrubs.  She works as a custodian and the pants were custodian-type/scrub-type.  So thick she could hardly get the pants leg rolled up for me to look at the knee.

Check a custodian supply company.

Thanks. The type that I'm referencing would block/absorb minor splashes as opposed to the newer styled ones.

Try soaking your scrubs in a bucket full of starch for a few hours before ironing them.  They come out thick and extra crisp.  They may sound like they are made out of paper when you walk, but they'll repel all sorts of body fluids, and perhaps even bullets.

I'm only concerned about deflecting taser barbs.  Considering the commute and area being passed through however, bullet repellant would be nice as well.  :-).  Maybe throw in some Kevlar for knives.  Regarding the Dickie's recommendation, they must not believe in older, body habitus shapes.

I appreciate the offer but the images shown do not appear to show any of the style that I was referencing.  Most modern day scrubs are thin as paper.  I'm looking for the old-school, heavy weight grey scrubs from a couple of decades back.  These are some where you had to be there then to know what I'm asking about.

I think you have to look through them more closely. there are several that are the heavy cotton you seek. or just do a google search yourself!
