fakingpatience
Haven't seen a thread for applicants this year yet. Who else is applying? Just finished my supplemental application and received an email saying it is being reviewed, and I will hear an update in "several weeks."
ktcan10
Good luck, @fakingpatience and others!! Let me know if you have any questions about the process...I'm a first year in Seattle! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bleu
I am! I submitted my supplemental at the end of June. Got the email yesterday that I met the criteria and my application is being forwarded to the faculty for "full review". Now we wait! :) Good luck to you fakingpatience! EMSGuy1982
When they say "several weeks" it means just that. Try not to stress about it to much! It has been an amazing experience so far being in this years class. Congrats to all of you for putting the time and effort into applying. I know it takes forever to get all your ducks in a row. If anyone has questions I am on here pretty frequently!

fakingpatience
Thank you both! I'm sure I'll have more questions and time goes on. KMK, sounds like I got my supplemental in just in time, and we're on the same timeline! Good luck to you as well :-)
bleu
Fakingpatience- are you up here in the Pacific NW? Ktcan- what are your days like right now? (What hours are you in class since you guys just started out?) Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ktcan10
Right now, we are in the summer session, which is the end of the online anatomy and physiology class (an emphasis on physiology) and basic clinical science, which is an overview of biochemistry, cellular chemistry, cellular biology, etc. We are in class almost every Monday-Friday 9 AM to 4-ish PM. Sometimes we have the afternoon off, or its optional, most times not. In the fall, we will be starting at 8:30 and going to about the same time, and our class load will increase to about 4 classes at a time. Good question to fakingpatience...if you guys are up here, I recommend meeting up before interviews, etc. I met up with three other guys off of here the day before our interview, and it was enormously helpful. Three of us got in! MEDEX really values teamwork and communication, as evidenced by their interview style (small group). Let me know if you have other questions! fakingpatience
KMK, I'm in California :-/ but if we both are lucky enough to get interviews I would love to meet up beforehand! Would make it so much less stressful to know someone to talk to there
bleu
Fakingpatience, i'm in portland (but was actually just in seattle this weekend- my sister has lived there for a long time now). That would be awesome to meet up if we get interviews for the same day! And thanks for the suggestion ktcan. jemoore1987
I am applying for the second time this year and am really excited! I just got all my references back so I will submit it this week! Last year I didn't ask enough questions so I submitted it late waiting on a transcript. Fall can't get here soon enough. Good luck to all!
krazymonkey
I have a question. I just took the GRE yesterday but I need to submit my application this week for other PA program deadline (8/1/14). On the MEDEX website, it says I have to self report the score on CASPA. Currently in CASPA i just self reported that I did took the GRE but not the scores. Once I submit CASPA, I can't go back and change the self-reported score, right? SO what do i do? (I'm going to call them tomorrow) Thanks!
ktcan10
Things I know: you cannot self report scores after submitting your CASPA. If you have a previous masters degree, the gre doesn't matter. But I would call them.
tinal08
I am a first time applicant to this program as well, living in New Mexico currently. I'm kind of nervous to be applying out of state, so I'd love to meet up with some of you before the interview as well. Does anyone know which month they do the interviews?
ktcan10
@tinal, traditionally, they start offering interviews in September and they usually offer one set of interviews every month until approximately January/February. Usually they are site-specific until the last session, which is typically a combined interview with multiple sites.
TX2GA Jake
Hello everyone, I'll jump on board this thread. I too am a first time applicant and I am out of state (Texas). I have my CASPA and supplemental app completed (still waiting on my third reference to submit their letter) but I received my verified notice from CASPA today. It would be awesome to meet up with you all during the interviews, I'm not sure about you but I am excited/nervous/scared/hopeful/pumped/etc... all at the same time. Good luck to everyone, I wish you all success. Jake
fakingpatience
Sounds like all of us on here are from out of state!
tinal08
Do they give a decent amount of heads up for interviews? I don't want to have to pay a huge amount for a last minute plane ticket to seattle considering the lower end tickets from ABQ to Seattle are around $300-400 each. fisha
tinal08, I received the invite on November 8th and had my interview on the 25th. Good luck
ktcan10
I got my notification in early August for an interview on September 24th. It seems to range. I know one guy in my class who had five days of notice!
TX2GA Jake
Thanks Ktcan, it is awesome that you are taking the time to help ease our nerves and answer questions. Hope you are doing well in class.
EMSGuy1982
I had about two weeks notice for my interview. Plenty of time to get myself worked up into a frenzy, get nervous, relax, get nervous again. Hopeful Jake we are paying it forward. I can say that coming I this forum and getting helpful advice from current students definitely helped with my nerves. Sit back and enjoy the time now. If you get in you won't have any time next year! Information overload succeeded. I'm sure Ktcan knows what I'm talking about :-)
ktcan10
I second that advice. I did not take fellow students' advice to try to relax through the process and that's my greatest wish for you guys. Pick up a new hobby, a volunteer job you LOVE, learn a new language, or spend time with loved ones, because that's all in short supply once the madness begins! siskiyoufire
Hey guys I'm another first year current student. About to finish Seattle and head to Spokane. Happy to help answer questions. Historically it seems you get around 2-3 weeks notice for your interview.
