FriarMedic
New grad with an EM offer that I'm pleased with (site, salary, location, and bennies are good) through a hospital, not a private EM group. My only concern is that health and dental insurance will not start for 75 days (60 days plus till the first of the month and i'm starting mid month). When the contract was initially offered, I was told benefits are standard for all full time employees in the hospital. So it doesn't really seem negotiable. Will hospitals typically negotiate? dmdpac
What is it you want to negotiate? Benefits starting soon? No benefits at all? Can't hurt to ask them.

Corpsman2PA
Friar I just accepted an EM offer as a new grad, and although it's through a group, they said standard is 30 day waiting period and then the first of the next month fwiw. Maybe you can see if they'll cut a month off of your waiting period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
andersenpa
Make sure you get the same standard as the physicians.

It has to do with enrollment dates and when the client (your potential employer) can add new people. It might not be something over which your potential employer has any control. Make sure you get the same standard as the physicians. And this, too.
