DPAP c/o 2015 here. If I recall correctly it takes at least a month to get the supplemental. I know it's hard to be patient, but it will come. Take your time to complete the supplemental without any errors, and have someone else proof it before you submit. Good luck!

Well thank you, that's super helpful uncgirl63! I know I am on the edge of my seat. Any advice on what they are looking for with the supplemental app? I saw the previous questions, I was just wondering as an insider if you knew what they were looking for.

This supplemental application seems pretty extensive. Has anyone taken a look at the application yet? There is a section under patient care that asks you the "agreeable/positive aspects" of your patient care responsibilities and there is a second section asking the "disagreeable/negative aspects" of your responsibilities. Does anyone know if you should list these, write out a short paragraph? And what if you don't necessarily think there was anything negative about your patient care responsibilities??

Also, are we supposed to do anything with the "recommendations" section, or is it simply stating the references you listed in CASPA that they will be using? Should I be letting my references know that they'll be receiving an evaluation to fill out from Duke?

I've asked the second question to the PA admissions email at Duke and am hoping to hear back shortly, but if anyone finds out beforehand I would appreciate a response!

Thanks and good luck to all of you who have received a supplemental!!

I have the same question about the agreeable and disagreeable aspects! Let me know if you figure it out please!

I submitted my supplemental application on Saturday and under "agreeable/positive aspects" I just put a couple honest sentences. I figured that they will ask plenty of questions on your patient care experience during an interview, so I didn't get too caught up on that section.

Hi all!

Finally getting some time to sit down and focus on this supplemental.

Who knows how we should enter lab components of courses which received their own grade separate from the actual lecture course?

For example, I took Organic Chem 1 and a separate Organic Chem 1 lab (each of which got an individual grade).

The labs count for 1 credit hour, how to I enter this and avoid the "error: each course must be at least 3 credit hours" message?

In the chemistry section it allowed me to put in 2 labs which are separate from the course without giving an error message because these are pre-reqs. However for classes like anatomy where lab isn't required you're not able to click the check mark for that course. In other words, only click the pre-req check for the 2 classes and 2 labs for chemistry...anything else and you will get an error. For A&P you can't check any labs, same with biology. Hope this helps. Good luck with the application!

  • 2 weeks later...

Are there any paramedics filling out this app?  I can't find a lot of the alphabet card certifications under the certification drop down box.  They don't have PALS, PEARS, ITLS, or PHTLS?  Should we put the first year we received the certificate, or our most recent recert year?

Also, what did everyone put for the education section where it asks if your academic record accurately reflects your capabilities?  I feel like mine does, but not sure if simply putting "yes" is enought
