PAspaghetti Posted August 7, 2014 Author Share Posted August 7, 2014 muamer9987, I'm a first time applicant too so I don't know exactly what to expect... but have you been to one of Wayne State's info sessions? They're the first Tuesday every month and I found it answered all of my questions. From what I understand each category fits into a points system to look at your application as a whole. Do you feel nervous about one part of your application or don't know if it's strong enough as a whole? To me I thought that they put importance on GPA, GRE, and recommendations but that's just how I felt. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
muamer9987 Posted August 7, 2014 Share Posted August 7, 2014 See ive never been to any of the meetings. But my gre is not that good and I have no volunteering. I have about 3.87 gps for the pre reqs but alot of them were taken at community college and then I transferred to wayne state and got my bachelors in nursing. My gre was 297 and a 4.0 on essay. I worked in a hospital setting and also in a nursing home before that altogether for about 2000 hrs as an RN and I have a pretty good recommendation from a chief medical director from my hospital. So im hoping some of the experience I have as an RN will outweight my gre and lack of volunteering. So idk what to think. Realistically im not too optimistic. futurepa1129 Posted August 31, 2014 Share Posted August 31, 2014 I am also applying to the program this year! Has anyone had a problem with the healthcare form in the graduate application? I answered all of the questions, but when I click the link "answer this" it is not there! I got the confirmation email and there is a check mark next to it, the questions i answered just aren't there. Also the part where you update the plan of work.. does it show that you uploaded something if it went through?? cutting it close! Just wanted to make sure this is happening for other people as well! That might be the problem and also if there is a check mark there, that usually means they did get all the information. You can always call and see if they received everything. I'm a second time applicant and heard about interviews on September 24th via e-mail. futurepa1129, I also can't see my answers on WSU's application. I contacted them and was told that I should not be able to once I submit them, but they have everything. Best of luck to everyone! Here's hoping we'll get to know each other as classmates in May! I was denied last year for a few reasons (patient care hours were not current, needed another upper level Physio class) and so I have worked so hard this last year to meet all the requirements and more and I hope to hear from them. The ppl that got the interview could you guys tell us your stats and when did you apply. I wonder of it had anything to do with when you applied. Like if they seperate people in two groups and the first group of people that got the interview maybe applied earlier? But im def feeling discouraged now.
