alyn Posted June 3, 2014 Share Posted June 3, 2014 I just noticed that UC Davis (one of the only PUBLIC schools in CA) raised their prices for their PA program to 110k per year for tuition only for students beginning 2014!!!On their website it says NP's only have to pay $25,454 for in-state and $37,699 yearly for out of state.I thought this was one of the schools that taught PAs and NPs together? The reason why? That I am unaware of as I just found out about the tuition difference a few days ago. A few of us are curious as to why and plan on asking when we get a chance. FierceDeityMomo Posted October 24, 2014 Share Posted October 24, 2014 The reason that UC Davis tuition is more for PA students is that the program is run by the School of Nursing. This results in Nurse Practitioner students receiving special grants because in order to be a Nurse Practitioner, you must current be a Registered Nurse. These benefits are not available to Physician Assistant students. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of disparity amongst how funding is utilized on the PA students vs the NP students.
