Are there safe areas nearby where students can live? I have family in the bay area but am not very familiar with Oakland itself, so any insight would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! Has anyone else not received an e-mail? I haven't gotten the email either. I read through last year's posts. Seems like they wait until everyone confirms before sending out the email. Thank you in advance!Pam told me that they take the BART train in from surrounding "safe" neighborhoods. Oakland is a tough place. They don't recommend walking to campus.
