BeatlesLVR Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 My husband and I will be PCS'ing overseas either end of this year or next summer (I am in the military). We haven't found out if we're going to Germany or to the UK yet. I will still be working on my PA school pre-reqs overseas if I can get into a university wherever I am, but I'm worried about whether those classes/grades are accepted here in the States. Undergraduate science classes are pretty consistent, especially between such educationally advanced countries as Germany and the UK, however, I want to make sure all my work will not be in vain. SHU-CH Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 The quality of schools in either the UK or Germany should not pose a problem. (If anything, they are likely to have less "grade inflation" than a lot of US schools.) As Rev notes, you will just have to have them send your transcripts to someone like WES for evaluation. If the schools you intend to apply to are willing to accept it, you might also consider online coursework from a US school like UNE. Taking courses like these will likely not be any less intense in terms of time or expense, but it might avoid some hassles down the road. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's been a while since I've been around the military but I knew folks who were sent overseas (mostly Europe but also Korea) and were able to take classes on base through a variety of US based colleges/universities. I imagine the availability of online learning would help this. I never dealt with that first hand so I might be wrong. Failing that, I think you'd probably do well to look into online classes through a US based university. Keep us posted on what you find out. As far as online classes go.. A bunch of PA pgms are not fond of accepting online classes (ESP with labs). I don't want to limit myself in case I'd like to apply to some of those schools. Allegro Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 You should determine which PA programs you are seriously interested in and then look to them for guidance on what they would accept.
