Thanks for starting this thread. Does anyone have any information on how the alternate list works? From the email, Western said it doesn't share any rankings. Smileyface Posted March 24, 2014 Share Posted March 24, 2014 When I went to the information session they said for every accepted student there is a person on the wait list who is a similar applicant to the accepted student. so if your match that is accepted drops out then you get accepted. that is what I understood from their explanation... I've heard from a friend that goes to Western now, that probably 10 people that she knows personally in the program were on the alternate list and got in, or got in the next year - so we still have hope! However, I am declining the offer becuase I was also recently accepted to another program closer to my home. I called admissions to schedule the telephone review of my application in the case that I need to apply again next year, and I inquired about any wait list movement.
