arlake
Hello, My husband recently accepted a job at UofW and we will be moving to Seattle in June. I currently reside in Pennsylvania and work in cardiology. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the PA job market in Washington, specifically in/around Seattle. I have perused the job boards and I am in the process of updating my resume, but would like an insider's perspective on the PA job scene. Given that the MEDEX program is a very strong PA program, I am hoping that Washington is a PA friendly state. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted February 4, 2014 Moderator Share Posted February 4, 2014 WA is a very friendly state for PAs, probably #2 after NC. Join WAPA as they have a job board. look at local hospitals, especially virginia mason and sweedish as they use PAs. good luck.
arlake
Great. Thanks for the info. I became a member of WAPA in January and have been perusing the job boards. Happy to hear the state is PA friendly.
arlake
One other question.. I am completing the PA medical license paperwork and am confused about a question in the licenses in other states section. It has a section for each license that states "basis of license" and then two columns, one for exam date passed and one for endorsement. I am not sure what this means. I did not have to take a state specific exam, only the nccpa exam. I do not know what the endorsement column means. I don't want to leave it blank in case this is necessary information. Does anyone understand this?
Administrator rev ronin Posted February 9, 2014 Administrator Share Posted February 9, 2014 Call WA state DOH. This isn't a busy time of year for them--no one graduates in February, to the best of my knowledge--and I found them very helpful.
