djbaldw1
I have my interview dec 13th at uw tacoma. I am super excited. Wondering if there are any current students from tacoma campus that could shed some light on interview questions and such.
EMSGuy1982
Congrats! I also have an interview on the 13th! If you jump over to the thread for Tacoma students you can get some details for a meet up the night before to ask questions with current Tacoma students. Looking forward to meeting you! Tracie A.
We cannot shed light on interview questions. What I can suggest is to be yourself, know strongly why you want to be a PA and be able to articulate that, be honored to have made it this far in the process, get lots of rest, and meet us for dinner the night before! McMEDIC
Adding to what Tracie has already said. This is not the place to gain insight into what questions will be asked of you. That, and even if you knew EVERY question that they were going to throw at you it would be of ZERO value to you. Just be you, know why and what you are interviewing for and be able to articulate it well. My BEST advice is to treat EVERY moment leading up to your interview as your interview. Treatthe ENTIRE interview day asif every single second you are being interviewed... Not to scare anyone BUT, I was on a flight heading to my interview and saw 4 admin on my plane, sat next to one in the terminal and saw most of them at the hotel I satyed at... So 1) Be you 2) Be the BEST you that you can be & C) be able to count to 3.
Tracie A.
Another piece of advice that was given to me last year... From the moment you get into the Seattle area, assume it to be part of your interview. You will be travelling with other people, stopping for coffee that morning the same places that faculty may be stopping for coffee, etc. Some may be staying at hotels where you guys are at... At our meet-up the night before interviews in Yakima last year some of the admissions committee was actually at the same place we were having dinner. So - not to make you paranoid... but just be aware of your interactions with others and treat it all as part of the interview.
ToppDog
A google search will provide you with very common questions which every applicant to any PA school should be prepared to answer if they come up. Outside of that all you need to know is that the questions are designed to get to know the real you, so there is no way to really prepare for them. Canned answers to these kinds of questions can be seen a mile away. Just be yourself & answer honestly. If you have attended any of the information sessions, then you would have heard this already from the faculty & staff. Now they even have descriptions of interview day on their facebook page. However, if you just want to improve interviewing skills in general, there are many ways you can prepare, & if you do searches here, or on some of the interview topics that are pinned, you should get a good idea of what to do & what not to do, etc. You can have people do mock interviews with you to get constructive feedback. Some people also video tape these to look at later to see if they do things that they aren't even aware of that are distracting, such as playing with hair, tapping feet, etc. Read what is available hear, as well as general interviewing tips available on the internet. This is the kind of stuff that will help you, knowing what questions will be asked will not.
mcpaim
Just wanted to say it is inspiring to see current PA students still offering to help applicants with their input. I interviewed with you last year though not selected. Keep up the good work Medex Tacoma! You are setting a fine example.
