RCC how many times applied?

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have applied to Riverside Community College (RCC) and either got accepted or denied. How many times did you apply before making it into the program? I am from Riverside county but I am not in the RCC district. I am thinking of moving to the area though. Do you know how many people apply to the program every year? I still have a long road ahead of me, but I am hoping to apply for Fall 2015. In the mean time, I will be doing an online Bachelor program in Health Care Admin, finishing all pre reqs, and getting my HCE as a CNA. I start school for CNA in November of this year. I am basically a 3.0 student, but I am going to try very hard to bring my GPA up. I am doing hours of research to make sure I get into this program. I want to know everything I can figure out about how to get into the RCC PA program. Any info will help! I just hoping once I meet the pre reqs that I will be accepted the first time I apply. I know from researching, the application has to be perfect, no mistakes allowed. Anything that you think I should know, please share your information. I may not be the best "book smart person" but I am smart, and Im a hard worker. I would love to achieve my goal of becoming a PA.

I saw somewhere on the PA website for the Fall 2013 class they have 16 students. I know they are able to take 50-55. I was wondering why only 16? Maybe not enough people meeting the pre-reqs? Also do you think the probation will be lifted in 2014? For acceptance, I know they go by location tier1, tier2, ect. What is the next factor, GPA? Is there an interview, or what is the next factor after that. I hope there is an interview, because that is what Im good at. Thank you for you apply and help!

Part of the probation was that they can only have a decreased number of students enrolled, including both 2014 and 2015 class. Since the 2014 class is pretty large, the 2015 had to be pretty small. Probation is set to be reviewed in September of 2014 I believe. The program has until then to make any needed changes. There was no interview when I was there (although that may change, I'm not sure). As far as GPA and experience, both are important... they like to see applicants with both high GPAs and lots of health care experience, obviously. Beyond the "location lottery", I'm not sure how that all works out.

I think the 16 students is how many they are enrolling this fall. I just thought it was weird how low the number is. It is probably like you said, because of the probation. This is what the site said. I hope this changes for the future so I will have a better chance of getting in. accepting only 16 students is very slim odds. How many students do you accept each year?

The program is accredited to enroll a total of 56 students. Based upon current enrollment, the program will enroll 16 students fall 2013.
