alanna
Hello...I have 2 PA's that are on their own. We are just getting started and I am having trouble with how to go about getting reimbursed for Medicare patients. Do each of the physicians that they help need to complete a new 855I? Really? Are there other options, ie agreements with the physicians on medicare patients? Help!
niraray
In order for a PA to be paid for first assisting in a surgery, the PA and MD need to be linked with a PTAN at the time of the surgery. This is done with an 855i, section 2E. The MD's group NPI and Tax ID is used on the CMS 1500 and the payment goes to the MD.
