    Re: Advise please.

"I'd bet my last pay check that it wasn't lack of current direct patient care that held you back. Did the person giving you that impression at the last information session have your file in their hand? Were they familiar with your previous application/interview? Or did they fail to suppress the overwhelming desire to simply say something because they felt it was important to appear knowledgeable? (not unlike many of my posts). What was your overall impression of your interview performance? Can you honestly say you rocked it, or do you feel there were areas you could improve on? While your work experience stats are impressive, they are not unique. Several of us in the Yakima class have 15-20+ years of experience. You can't put all your bank on just those stats."

I agree that perhaps they gave me a "canned answer" because they didn't have my file. My overall impression, at first, when leaving that day was that I rocked it. Then after some reflection, before the rejection letter, I felt that I could have answered some questions in a more positive manner. I may have openly disagreed with one of the other applicants on a question then came across arrogant. I also felt that maybe I was too stoic in my responses. I understand they want to see how comfortable you are in your own skin and perhaps I left a bad impression. I also need to be more sociable.

I do plan to re-apply this next year. If I to pick any program to attend it would be MEDEX.
