    Paracentesis reimbursement

    Hi All,
    I was wondering if anyone else has been having difficulties getting reimbursed for doing a paracentesis?

    Nope we get reimbursed pretty easily. The issue is the reimbursement is hardly worth the time though. Paracentesis with US is 2 RVU. Around $70 at Medicare rates for an hours work. For comparison I would get 5 RVUs for the same amount of critical care time.
