DEFINITELY worth 41 cents/day to never have to answer these questions again:
physician'S assistant, that's like 3 months of trade school after high school, right?
oh, so are you going to be a doctor someday?
oh, so are you going to continue on and become a nurse?
do you guys get to help the doctor by drawing blood and stuff?
etc, etc

I'm not sure I follow.
It just seems to be an organization that is filling the gaps that the AAPA has.
I'd just hate to make our profession similar to Nursing in that there are multiple major organizations to belong to, and not one that speaks for all of the RNs... and for our case, one that speaks on behalf of all of the PAs.
It's a great idea, but I think it is just a great example of what's missing from the AAPA that SHOULD be a part of the AAPA.
Again, novice here, so I'd love to see others' thoughts, since many of you have already jumped on the bandwagon.
the aapa has had > 30 yrs to do this and hasn't.
I am an aapa member and I am not saying do this instead of aapa but in addition to it. the aapa is just not meeting the needs of rank and file pa's when it comes to putting a public face on the pa profession. they are supporting individual health maint. issues that honestly should be done by other organizations. the goal of the aapa should be to support the pa profession and help it to gain natl recognition and they just don't.
everyone knows what an np is.
maybe 10% of americans know what a pa is.
that needs to change

Has anyone checked out whose on the Board of Advisors? Our very own Forum founder!![]()
For many reasons the AAPA has not received my dues for the past couple of years. When and if they address their failings I will be more than happy to support their efforts on our behalf. NAPA appears to have honest intentions, so I am taking a leap of faith to join.
Thank you NAPA!
ps. E- just curious.. how did you find out about this org?

I am one of the founders of the new organization. We are not here to replace anyone. We will work with all PA organizations. We need them all. We are here to promote the PA profession by marketing them to the public, health care administrators, and other health care professionals. The problem with the already existing PA organizations is too much red tape. We have set the foundations of the new organization so that we will have less voting and committees and more action. We want direct contact with as many PAs as we can. We are members of the AAPA and will continue to be active members. We have only one goal....make things better for all PAs. Not "midlevels". I hope you will support us in our endeavor.Originally Posted by PAMidge
I am the other founder. Thank you all for your support. We are working hard, and it will be a long journey. We have some great ideas and many of you have offered to help. We would like to have you all involved. This is our profession and there is a lot of work to do. Our website is almost finished and we are tying up a few lose ends. We should be taking membership in the next few days. Please check back to the membership page and you will see when the site is accepting membership. We will also make an announcement when we are open for membership.
